Brian Thomas

Since his graduation from Baylor Law School, Brian Thomas has devoted himself solely to the areas of estate planning, probate and guardianship.

Mr. Thomas has guided clients through numerous matters, from uncontested estate administrations and guardianships to highly litigated will contests and proceedings affecting the most basic and fundamental rights of individuals alleged to be incapacitated

In addition to his experience in the courtroom, Mr. Thomas counsels Ford & Mathiason’s estate planning clients, mapping out unique plans for the transfer of wealth, deferral or avoidance of taxes and addressing pre-need planning in the event of future incapacity.

Mr. Thomas regularly counsels fiduciaries, families and loved ones through some of the most difficult and demanding circumstances they will face.  Whether mediating a will contest or preventing the imposition of a guardianship where inappropriate, Mr. Thomas constantly calls upon his comprehensive background in Wills, Trusts and Estates, provided by one of  the foremost experts in the field at Baylor Law School.

Since joining Ford & Mathiason, Mr. Thomas has served on various bar association committees in both the Houston and Dallas areas.  He regularly lends his time and expertise to aid in the presentation of continuing education seminars and the investigation and prosecution of the unauthorized practice of law.

In addition, Mr. Thomas is routinely privileged to be appointed by probate court judges as special counsel in guardianship and heirship matters throughout the Dallas area.

Our Houston office conveniently serves our clients in Harris, Montgomery, and Fort Bend counties, while our Dallas office serves clients in Dallas, Tarrant, Denton, and Collin counties.
