Brian Thomas

After completing his undergraduate studies at Baylor University, Brian Thomas returned to his alma mater as a law student in a program hailed as “the marine corps of law schools.” At Baylor, Mr. Thomas earned distinction among his peers for his legal research and advocacy skills in both appellate argument and trial procedure competitions. His dedication to these areas allowed him the opportunity to assist in coaching Baylor’s undergraduate mock trial team to national competition at the highest level.

Throughout his law school career, Mr. Thomas completed an area of concentration in Estate Planning and Probate law, including two one-on-one capstone courses involving the same issues he finds clients facing today. Under the guidance of one of the foremost experts in Wills, Trusts and Estates, Mr. Thomas learned how to advise clients throughout some of their most important decisions.

Prior to joining Ford & Mathiason, Mr. Thomas worked alongside a dedicated team of attorneys and paralegals at the Small Business Administration in the months following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. As part of that team, Mr. Thomas was responsible for helping more than ten billion dollars in disaster-assistance government loans make it to those hit hardest by the devastating natural disasters.

Mr. Thomas joined Ford & Mathiason in the summer of 2006, and regularly counsels our clients in estate planning, probate and guardianship matters.
